Independent Robotics draws crowds at Ottawa GCExpo

Independent Robotics were delighted to showcase their latest version of the rapidly iterating Aqua2 underwater robot at the government of Canada Exposition on autonomy.

The event, held at Ottawa’s autonomous experimentation location ‘Area X.O’ and run by Invest Ottawa on behalf of Transport Canada (the main sponsor), showcased 70 exhibitors and welcomed over 1500 attendees - most from the federal and provincial government.

The attendees saw Independent Robotics and learned how automation is becoming increasingly accessible and has huge benefits for difficult tasks.

The Royal Canadian Navy came by the stand and were updated on the latest developments and features available for their own Aqua2 robots.

As Aqua2 was the only water-based robot at the show, and because it was powered up showing it’s unique swimming style on the stand, it drew a lot of attention from attendees and vips. We also showcased, for the first time, our grounded AI Insight Engine. This is a software module, applicable to any vehicle or even offline/desktop processing, that automates the mission data review and reporting. That means instead of a human spending 10 hours reviewing video and other sensor data in post-mission analysis… the AI generates the pdf with thumbnails, location and other meta data of all key targets and anomolies in just minutes.

The IR team that attended GCExpo felt it was hugely valuable and would like to extend their thanks to the organisers and everyone who came by the stand to see the robot and AI.
